In every subject, teachers seize any opportunity to develop pupil’s cultural capital as, at East Stour, we believe that a great curriculum can help to build cultural capital.
Standing alongside this is the extensive enrichment provision, which ensures that pupils have access to a wide, meaningful set of experiences and opportunities both within the school and as extra-curricular activities. We nurture a care for our own school community and celebrate being part of Ashford’s wide and diverse community. We encourage our pupils to actively learn about different cultures and different generations within their own community.
At East Stour we also foster a love for the arts and we develop an appreciation for books, works of art, sculpture, dance and other cultural goods from across the world. All children engage enthusiastically and whilst they enjoy expanding their knowledge they also grow their understanding of the world and helps them become supportive and tolerant global citizens.
